This exciting special tuning was developed by Steve Baker, Hohner Germany's diatonic harmonica consultant. The 14-hole tuning extends the range of bendable draw notes while retaining their familiar blues configuration. The SBS enables the first nine draw notes (over a 2 + octave range) to be bent using the same method as when playing a standard tuned harmonica.

Special low pitch harmonicas:
Yes, you need the 12 standard diatonic keys to play along with any song. The keys of E, Eb, F, F#, and D can start to sound rather high-pitched, though, so on some songs a special low pitch harmonica would be more appropriate. The cool thing is when you pull one of these babies out and start playing it, even jaded players snap their heads up and go: "Wow, what was that sound?!"
A smooth, comfortable-feeling harmonica with genuine brass plates recessed in a plastic body. The Special 20 is an exceptionally warm-sounding, airtight instrument with bolted on covers that comes in a hinged plastic case.
