Well, I just made a rediculous "LOW BALL" offer on a Mesa Boogie that I came across on Craigslist.  I'm kinda hoping the guy is behind on his porn subscription and needs some fast cash. 

I know this does not make me a bad person, but as I was researching the Mesa Boogie amp I came  across a review that said the amp was very reliable so long as you didn't put your beer on top of it while you were gigging.  Well, I never gave it much thought before, but I often put my beer of top of my amp.  Is that a bad thing, or is it just wrong with Mesa Boogies?

The one thing that stands out to me is a Mesa Boogie is crap for harmonica. Being specifically designed for guitar the amp is VERY hot in the pre-amp, meaning you will experience feedback like you have never heard before. If you can get it cheap enuff maybe trade it for something else as they're very desirable for guitar. Or tube it down, tho I've never heard of anyone doing this to play harp thru. They are great amps, but I have never been able to work with one and God knows I have tried.

It's a moot point anyway.  He wanted $1300. 

Got any opinions on the VOX AC15?

If it's a modern PCB type re-issue AC15 it's not very good {and I'm being nice}
Original vintage AC15, sweet. EL84 power tubes so it's higher midrange-y than fender type amps, depends on what tone you re looking for. Might be a bit thin for harp if you are looking for a fat tone.
