I have a 4 lb. hammer you can use for the intricate stuff.
It's a great tool for scaring mechanics too.  Makes big noise on a steel table.  Wakes people up!!

My goal for now is being able to play and improvise blues. When I can do that, I'll be happy.

Hit it.

Joe, before you take the covers off another one.....contact me first!

That read is broken, I'll need another GM to steel a reed from to repair. So, that one is now in the "harmonica Bone Yard"!

i've been trying to play 2 note octave melodies. The tongue blocks 2 sometimes 3 holes blow-and-draw. i've heard it done and would like to make it a practical choice when playing melodies.

Doing that and switching between 2 harps thats way beyond me.

If your trying to block say the 5 and 6 hole while playing the 4 7 octave, but your blocking 3 holes sometimes by mistake.
I would say put your tip of your tongue on the piece of the comb thats between the 5 6 then lightly press down on it with
your tongue till you hear the octave. That's probably pretty obvious but I am sure it takes tons of practice to get it good.

Single notes.  Only been at it 3 weeks or so, but that's my biggest issue.

I too - being finaicially challenged and a whole list of other priority stuff cannot afford the JP boxed set

My biggest challenge since getting JP's DVD pack and working through them is getting past some old time bad habits. I learned to play single notes with my lips puckered like an ol' lady's kiss but with JP's deep mouth technique it is screwing up my playing. I am now having to relearn it all over again. I figure it is going to take quite a few weeks to finally break the habit and then move on with the new.
