CAUTION: THIS IS ONLY A TEST!

Okay – So many, many moons ago, I was part of a minstrel/variety/vaudeville show.  

Performed at a high school for the community, these shows went on for 3 successive nights; and we did these shows for two consecutive years.  They were very well received by all!

To put on these shows took weeks if not a couple of months of rehearsal.  Fortunately, there was a fantastic lady director who along with her crew made everything come together!

While every actor/musician/performer gave it their all to put their best foot forward onstage and on the front lines to make everything lively and entertaining for our audiences – It was also backstage and elsewhere where the people became people again.

Meaning after talking turkey from critiquing one another, about how to better improve, doing this, doing that, and so on – within minutes we’d be talking and chatting on about the other of life’s offerings, things, and so forth. About family, friends, kids, grandkids, girlfriends, boyfriends – From politics, religion, what’s going on in the world, so on and so forth.  Cracking jokes, cracking wise, cracking open bottles of champagne/and other drinks when it was all said and done to be sure!

It was a great time had by everyone!

At the same time, a few of us wags called these little get-togethers the meeting of The Downtown/In The Country/Backstage/Underground Lounge!

Well some may’ve become lifelong friends; others came and went; time and life marches on!

Yet still, with all this in mind, here too now would be a great time to resurrect and reprise such a congregating meeting place!

So if you’d like to talk a little harpin’ turkey here and there, that’s fine.  And if you’d like to talk about whatever comes to mind and trips your triggers, good, bad or indifferent – Well here now is the place to do so too.

And I say as well this is only a test; really an experiment in how community works, plays, and has its fun!

However hopefully, if/when they (the big shots) start reformatting and building on their plans for the forum – Maybe, just maybe there will be a whole section devoted to this come-as-you-are meeting place!

So feel free to let your hair down.  And talk about anything and everything else that’s out and about in the world yesterday, today, maybe even tomorrow!  No subjects, topics are sacred (within reason of course) –
 
But really as I always like to say:

Welcome!  C’mon in, ya’ll!   Kick your shoes off and stay a while!  Kick your clothes off and stay a while longer!
