Beats me, unless those are vocal sounds through the harp.
Looks like a Hohner 280, and I heard a lot of notes that may have been coming from another harp player.

2  Everything Harmonica / Harmonica Gear: Investment and Support / Someone has reedplates for sale on Craigslist Asheville, NC on: May 19, 2012, 01:32:53 PM
There are some Hohner MS reedplates on Craigslist in the Asheville, NC area.  Several different keys in original packaging I believe.
It's too far away for me to consider, but here's an alert for anyone in the area.  They are in Marshall, NC, I believe a little north of Asheville (just past Weaverville LOL).  I forget what keys, but they were all usable ones.
Happy hunting.

Absolutely correct, Super Prez.  I didn't post more since most of my posting is done these days on my handheld, but I couldn't have said it better if I had tried.
The big deal about the Dobro was reinventing the resonator to be as loud as the triple cone without the cost of manufacture.

Yeah, but ask in English.   I don't speak Worldwide.

Gibson owns rights to the name now, but Dobro comes from the name of the brothers who marketed their design of resonators, much like the Gibb brotbers became BeeGees.  Dobro wasn't the first resonator, just the name the public recognizes best.
Most people call resonators Dobros though, just like many people call all paper clips Gem Clips.

Howdy boy!
I'll see you in a few minutes.
Now if we can get the first one I mentioned on here, it would be great.
But y'all are gonna like biscuits.  Who wouldn't?

Around here jam is either a Yankee word for preserves or what you do to get your '64 Chevy pickup in reverse (bad spelling though).  LOL
I really don't care what it's called as long as I can have it on my biscuits or toast.  We do get in jams from time to time here, and it can be quite sticky.  All joking aside (Do you really believe I can stop?!)  I knew better than to use the term jeeelly, but I couldn't figure a way to mispronounce "preserves" on my keyboard.  I didn't do too well with jeeelly.
I do like playing with the biscuits and the jam handle.  That's really gravy...I mean...groovy.  Dig it?
Man what a flashback those words caused!  That was outta sight!  Far out!
If I called myself Hambone, we could be Ham Biscuits.  Maybe Ham Jam.
RamJam...no that's taken, and I don't look sheepish.
The Doughboys, and then people could poke us in our bellies to hear us chuckle like the real fake doughboy.
I'd better go before Age kicks me outta here!  Are tired jokes illegal?
Anyway, I'm doing well on my 270, and really enjoying it.  I still can't wait to get my hands on a 4 octave harmonica so I can get low for some of those great gospel songs.  I love George Yonce (late great bass singer), and I've been playing along with some of his tunes.  That extra octave will be what I need to get what I'm looking for on those.
Until then...Thanks for the fellowship, and I'll catch you on the flip side.

Even better, but here in the South we pronounce it jeeelley.

Maybe that last one will work because when you wake up, you're lips won't be chapped, and you can't remember how you played...or if you played.  LOL

Should we call you Mr. Abe or be on first name terms and call you Old?  LOL
Glad to have you here Fred!

19  Everything Harmonica / How to Play the Harmonica / Re: How to play on chromatic harmonica on: April 04, 2012, 09:03:47 AM
Well Jim, I got mine, new old stock, for $20.  I'm not worried about playing it like a seasoned pro.  I'm not one of those.  I do happen to be a seasoned pro trumpet man, and I've played or warned against many low quality instruments.  It's not always the highest dolllar that gets the best quality, but you do have to put down a pretty penny still for fine craftsmanship.  I usually play vintage instruments to get the quality, sound, and styling I prefer.  But even a cheap horn is USUALLY worth $20 for the few months it will last a novice (unless it's so bad it's unplayable for a beginner).  There are things I don't like about this harp, so I'll probably either learn to work on it or put up with it.
Seriously though, what would you consider an acceptable quality chromatic?

Hey BT!
I've wanted to get another chromatic for a long time, but the price for something I really couldn't play...well I couldn't turn this one down at the price.  Brings back childhood memories with my Dad's big 64.

Hey there TeflonRon!
I just got a chromatic, a Hohner 270, and I'm loving it.
I've been bending all over the place with it.  I thought they wouldn't bend.
I know this is an older thread, but I hope you'll catch it.

Howdy new friend.
Most info here will be for diatonics.  Personally, I haven't played a chromatic in years, and then I really only played with them.  I DID buy a Hohner Super Chromomica (I only mentioned the full name because I'm super too LOL) 270.
Great instrument!  I'll be working on this one as I continue with my beloved MB and LO.
Hey SPD!  You won't believe what I paid for this or the guitar I recently bought.  The 270 is NOS with original paperwork (big deal).
BTW, just relax and have fun with your new instrument.

Even without countless hours you can begin to make some music and enjoy.

That's a great little harp to inherit.  Enjoy both types.
