Why Rick Estrin?

Rick Estrin (1950, California) got his start when he had the opportunity to play on stage with Muddy Waters. Besides being an amazing harp player, Rick is considered a brilliant songwriter. Winner of the 2013 Blues Music Award for Best Instrumentalist (Harmonica), Estrin plays the blues with his band the Nightcats, who perform all around the U.S.

Rick Estrin has impeccable chops. He plays brilliantly. His tone leaves very much to be desired. That being said, his songwriting, sense of humor and on stage persona which goes hand in hand with his harp playing rates him way, way higher than this?
