Rachelle Plas! WOW!!! Check out this video interview with Hohner Harmonicas.

I love Rachelle’s playing and I admire the way she plays many genres.

Rachelle began her harmonica journey with a little book at the age of 8. Lucky her! I started at 21 and I’ve had plenty of students who started in their eighties. At the end of the day it’s all about enjoying oneself…and that can be done at any age.

Check her out here in this classic Little Walter Blues called “Mellow Down Easy”

Best to not mess…  rumor has it she’s also a Judo champion.

So what do you think of Rachelle? Leave me a comment below and I’ll get back to you soon.

Happy Harpin,

jp

I loved her style. I can only play single note style.. Would love to be able to play the blues. I do enjoy playing the harmonica, and I have no problem playing most any song that is familiar to me.

Just this past week I played at the local seniors home accompanied by an accomplished pianist. We entertained for about 45 min. Real fun to see the guests try to sing the old songs that they loved so dearly. It is a home of close to 50 residents. Many other guests were there as well.

Thanks for sharing Rachelle’s gift. Laurel Anne S….

    JP,
Rachelle, has a unique style, and it validates what you have been saying all along, to just keep at it. I’m taking an interest now in Blues and Jazz, working with Chromatic, Diatonic and other keyed harmonicas. Thank goodness for youtube.
    Hope you are well.

I’ve known about Rachelle Plas for a while. In fact, she’s the reason why I bought my first set of seven Golden Melody harps. She plays that really low harp in the Key of G which I just love. I am French too, so I hope that I will get 1/10 as good as she is.

Wow,,,picking my jaw up off the floor. What an inspiration! How do ppl get so good, so young? I feel so untalented, but I do try, and that’s the bottom line. If a person tries, give ’em credit. I have a vision of me hiding behind a palm tree in Hawaii, come February, oh dear, got to get back on my practice schedule … Corporate America drains me every day, come home n plop! I have been playing harmonica(harp) for more than 40 yrs and I am 65 now and still enjoy playing. I love the blues and I like to improvise and create my own from within. I feel what I am playing as many harp players do. I would encourage anyone wishing to play the harmonica(harp) to stick with it and don`t let negativity get you down. Those who cannot play critisizes and those who can play keep on doing what they do best and thats making music on the harp sound so much better. I enjoy the videos and the young lady has real solid talent. I play solo and amny ask if I play with a band but never did seek that avenue. But I keep on blowing and enjoying every bit of it.
