Review Summary:

The Hering Vintage 40 is a 10-hole chromatic harmonica with, as the name suggests, a vintage style. It has a flashy look that will appeal to anyone, with its brass-coated cover that gives it a golden shine. It is a fairly inexpensive chromatic harmonica, but it's also easy for someone used to a diatonic to play. So, it can be used as a transitional harp for anyone who wants to try more advanced blues tunes. Although there seems to be some confusion about how the Hering Vintage 40 is tuned to begin with (Richter versus solo), anyone who knows enough about playing harmonicas can easily tune it however they want, thanks to the simple assembly.

  • Great vintage look
  • Good transitional harmonica

  • May need to be adjusted or tuned out of the box
