Review Summary:

The Hering Opus is one of the best Hering chromatic harmonicas. It is custom tuned by musicians to ensure that the tone is clear and crisp. The acrylic comb and brass reed plates of this 12-hole, 48 reed mouth harp allow professional harmonica players to play any tune they want in the key of C. This harmonica is balanced much better than many other models. So, it can achieve the volume you might want as a professional player without sacrificing the quality of the tone. Although it has a fairly high price tag, its unique configuration and high quality make it well worth the investment.

Pros

  • Clear, crisp tone

Cons

  • Only available in key of C

yes it is well made but a bit squeekie, ike most 12 hole C tuned harmonicas. You really can’t beat a 16 hole one, because it has that extra lower octave!! If an Opus had 16 holes it would be the best harmonica out there.
