The Seydel 1847 Silver, like other Seydel 1847s, features stainless steel reeds. It also features the 1847 Classic's comfortable cover plates that are rounded and designed not to catch on lips or beards. Unlike the Classic, the Silver has been upgraded to include a polymer comb, German silver reed plates, and stainless steel reed plate screws. The 1847 Silver is much easier to play than many other models, and it also comes in multiple keys. However, despite some miner differences, the 1847 Classic is just as good as far as performance and sound. The Silver looks better, but its tone, which is rich and nice, is not that much different from that of the Classic.
